Remembering Julie Chen

She has Reached the Finish Line
Joanne Chan - Friend

when news like this has rocked my world, all i can do is be silent and surrender to God's soveriegnty.

my reaction to julie's death vacillated between feeling confused about why God would take her at such an early stage of her "life mission" to coming to the realization that we can't assume that our idea of one's "life mission" is the same as God's. He decides when we have finished what we were supposed to do in our lifetime. He decides. We don't.

i'm very sad that such a dear and lively spirit is no longer with us on earth, but like the others who loved and were inspired by julie, i am comforted to know that she was at the center of God's plan for her life. she was living a life surrendered to Him....yes, she is the lucky one and yes, this event has made me feel the urgency of every moment we have on earth. there is no time to waste...

my prayer is for her family to see God glorified through this...for all who loved her to be comforted and wrapped in the knowledge that she has reached the finish line and is with our Father....for the memory of her spirit to live on and inspire people for generations to come. i have definitely been inspired and encouraged by how she lived her life and hope to share about her to anyone who will listen.

julie - i'm so glad i knew you -- a fellow 'NFP'. your life gives me hope. thank you for that.

see you soon,
joanne
