Reflection for Julie (Posted Aug 28 2005) Andrew Wu - Friend from Real World In spite of living in the same geographical area and even participating in the same fellowship, I knew Julie mostly through her weblogs. And so I, a mere sideline observer, am grateful for an opportunity to write from my perspective. In contrast with other personal blogs that adhere to the minutiae of the mundane or frivolous or swing to the opposite end and post frivolously 'deep' thoughts or find themselves constantly mired in rantings, Julie offered simple glimpses into her life that traced her spiritual maturing and deepening joy in learning to live as a child of the Father. She allowed her audience in to identify with her struggles to define her role in her family and to free herself from the pain of her personal history, and she paused occasionally to entertain her readers with a highlight of from her day. Again and again, however, she would return to the source of her jubilation - Emmanuel. It was a genuine delight to rejoice with her as she found wholeness and completion in Emmanuel's love, as she grew to understand and to revel in the love the Father had for her. Of course, merely reading about it is a far cry from treading the path together, side-by-side ... She was so excited finally to be a part of her Father's long-term plan to bring the good news to all corners of the earth in a way that allowed her to be in the thick of the action, even as a tutor for the children of translators and linguists. I was excited to see her so excited for such field work, in her desperate longing to do something more tangible for her Father's kingdom. And so we cheered her on, supported her, prayed for her. And her Father has seen it fit to bring her home to glory from within the place she so longed to be - out in the field, basking in the fruit of her Father's creation. Praise be to you, our Father, for allowing Julie to be a part of our lives, and us in hers, and for calling your child to your arms. May you comfort her family and her friends in their grief. "Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory." ~Psalm 74:23-24
