Remembering Julie Chen

Everything is Perfect in His Time
Wilma Kwan - Friend from WCC and Pho Fellowship Group

Julie -
I know you are smiling as you stand face to face with our Creator and our God. I only met you a few months ago..May 7th to be exact but first impressions do stick..

We met for the first time at Mary Ann’s - Actually we ended up eating Mary Ann’s home cooked pho at Colleen & Bernard’s home. I remember waiting for you to come. You missed dinner! But you came and we all sat around talking. Mary Ann then had you and Sherise share about your upcoming trips to Asia. I remember just the joy and authenticity that you carried with you as you shared. You were just so excited to be a teacher for the missionary kids and was so excited that this is where God had brought you. What touched me was how passionate you were about prayer – one who expected the prayers of her closest and dearest. You had a heart for the lost and wanted nothing more and was ready to go.

What I admired you the most is that although sometimes people leave their company/profession because they are dissatisfied – you were different – you said you had the most marvelous year as a teacher and things just came together for you this year. YET, you were willing to leave it all and forsake all for our Lord Jesus Christ. How inspiring that has been to me and this sacrifice will stick with me forever.

As you first arrived, I knew that God had prepared a place for you there. God must have been preparing for you for heaven as you were surrounded by people who loved the Lord. I could picture you sitting at the feet of those missionary families and just cherishing those that God has chosen to be alongside with you. Everything is perfect in His time.

You remind me to dream big and to live life fully and joyfully and with passion and zeal.

I just wonder what is in store for all the people you have touched. You have made such an impact on me and have been a blessing to me even in our two encounters. You are already missed but I know that you are safe in our Daddy's loving arms.

I was reading your old posts and came across this that you wrote after our first meeting at Mary Ann's...

" In sharing last night, I realized how much He's been directing my steps this past year and I'm exactly, perfectly where He wants me to be. Father, Your heart of love for me AWES me.

"sigh...I seriously can't wait to run to His arms of love when we finally see Him face to face.. I'll crazy race you to it.."

My heart aches for your dear friends and family because we all miss you dearly.
